Diplomarbeit - Veterinärmedizinische Universität Wien - 2022

Aufgrund der zunehmenden Bedeutung der Online-Lehre, wurden im Rahmen dieser Arbeit, dem Zeitgeist folgend, Lehrvideos erstellt, welche den Studierenden ergänzend zum eigentlichen Unterricht ein besseres Verständnis für die korrekte Vorgehensweise des propädeutischen Untersuchungsganges beim Schwein vermitteln sollen. Besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei auf die praktische Durchführung der einzelnen Untersuchungsschritte gelegt. Dank dieser dynamisch grafischen Darstellung wird sowohl der auditive als auch der optisch-visuelle Lerntyp angeregt. Zusätzlich zum Bild- und Tonmaterial werden die wichtigsten physiologischen Werte und Befunde in Form von Text eingeblendet. Durch das Lernen mithilfe von Videos werden verschiedene Sinnesorgane in Anspruch genommen, wodurch eine bessere Gedächtnisleistung und folglich ein besserer Lernerfolg erbracht werden können. Ein weiterer Vorteil dieser audiovisuellen Lernform ist die Möglichkeit zur Integration in die Online-Lehre, welche gerade in der heutigen Zeit immer mehr an Bedeutung gewinnt. Weiters können sich die Studierenden die Videos orts- und zeitunabhängig, beliebig oft und in ihrem individuellen Tempo ansehen, was ihnen eine flexible und selbstständige Lernphase ermöglicht und zusätzlich als Nachschlagewerk dient. Die Universitätsklinik für Schweine in Wien ist bisher im deutschsprachigen Raum die einzige Schweineklinik, die ihren Studierenden ergänzend zum Propädeutik-Unterricht Lernvideos zur Verfügung stellt. Zwar haben auch andere Universitäten Fotos und Videos in ihrem Unterricht eingebaut, allerdings keinen vollständig verfilmten und mit Sprechertext hinterlegten Untersuchungsgang von Anfang bis Ende.

Due to the increasing importance of online teaching, teaching videos were created as part of this work, following the current zeitgeist, which, in addition to the actual lessons, are intended to give the students a better understanding of the correct procedure for the propaedeutic examination of pigs. Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of the individual steps of the clinical examination. Thanks to this dynamic graphic representation, both auditory and optical-visual learners are stimulated. In addition to the image and sound material, the most important physiological values and findings are displayed in the form of text. Learning with the help of videos makes use of a wider variety of sensory organs, which can lead to better memory performance and consequently better learning success. Another advantage of this audiovisual form of learning is the possibility of integrating it into online teaching, which is becoming increasingly important nowadays. Furthermore, the students can watch the videos anywhere and anytime, as often as they like and at their own pace, giving them the opportunity to have a flexible and independent learning phase as well as providing them with a reference work. The university clinic for swine in Vienna is so far the only swine clinic in the German-speaking area that provides its students with learning videos in addition to the propaedeutic lectures and practical courses. Although other universities have included photos and videos in their classes, they have not filmed the entire examination from beginning to end and accompanied it with a narration.
