<ns1:description language="en">From the previous explanations you can see, wild horses and horses kept under conditions close to nature, spend more than half of the day grazing and feeding, preferred in continuous, slow movement in walk. They spend the rest of their time resting and other behaviors such as forced moving, playing, social or sexual behavior and drinking. In wild horses divergencies of time budgets are primarily caused by age, time of the day and year or the environment. Time bugets of domestic horses are mostly influenced by different aspects of housing conditions like the construction of the barn, composition of the herd and feedingmanagement. Unfullfilled needs of the horse can result in physical problems such as gastric ulcers or psycological problems such as stereotypies like weaving or cribbing. There are several methods for elevating those time budgets like observing trough humans, videotaping or tracking with activity sensors, which should be combined depending on the question of research, but tracking with activity sensors could be the method of choice in the future. Apart from that they offer broad options in behavioral research, healthmanagement and equine medicine itself, but further research has to be done with a bigger sample size.</ns1:description>
