They control sebocyte proliferation, differentiation, and lipid production - mechanisms that are essential for SG homeostasis, sebum secretion, and skin health. Also, impaired ERBB signaling is associated with diseases such as acne, SG hyperplasia, or skin adverse effects to some cancer therapies.
